Christine Goodis
A bona fide visionarian with the heart of a spiritual rebel-badass, Christine brings a flair of grace, panache and intention to everything she does. Her talents are a splendidly eclectic mix of master colorist and rock star hair stylist, Zen oasis room designer, international hairdressing educator, artifact restoration expert, and passionate nature lover.
Christine’s serene presence, capacity for deep listening, intuitive sense of classic hairdressing, and natural affinity for adoring on others all dovetail into a quietly transformative time for anyone who enters her salon and boutique.
“‘It's impossible,’ said pride. ‘It's risky,’ said experience. ‘It's pointless,’ said reason. ‘Give it a try,’ whispered the heart.”
–Toye Elizabeth Norwood
Lauded as a hairdresser’s hairdresser, Christine is a role model who has educated thousands of stylists in the United States and internationally. She trained at London’s original, infamous Sassoon Academy. As a platform artist for Irving Rusk, Sebastian and Trevor Sorbie, Christine has mentored both new and seasoned hair stylists along the East Coast in the art and craft of custom cuts, color, and facial structure, as well as the business of salon ownership and space design aimed at cultivating guest loyalty and delight. Once the personal hairdressing assistant to Vivienne MacKinder, Christine has traveled nationwide to assist with modeling shows and hands-on teaching. Her education also includes studying the art of perfumology in Grasse, France.
Since 1995, each of Christine’s salons have been architectural works of art renovated from the ground up. Her inaugural salon was born in The Arrott Building, a historic landmark in downtown Pittsburgh. The sparkling hubbub of Pittsburgh’s Cultural District was the perfect locale for her second space, and where she hosted hundreds of local and global artisans. In 2011, the salon moved a few miles uptown to the trendy neighborhood of Lawrenceville, the birthplace of beloved composer Stephen Foster and a New York Times “go to” destination. In 2018, Christine christened her fourth and current salon, Clementine, after metamorphosing an entire building into an indoor-outdoor garden oasis.
Tucked away just a few blocks from the main stretch of Lawrenceville’s boutiques, restaurants, galleries, coffee houses and gift shops, Clementine’s peaceful Zen garden atmosphere allows guests to be pampered with the focused simplicity of design cutting and Aveda vegan hair coloring in a space of quiet enchantment.
"Christine is like a renaissance tornado when she works."
–Heather George
Christine’s love for humanity reveals itself in all the ways that she generously gives to others. Those who know and love Christine are inspired by her unrelenting acts of service and kindness. She:
- never hesitates to offer complimentary services to cancer patients and homeless men & women in recovery.
- can’t resist helping the Animal Rescue League with feral city kittens and cats.
- has been known to pack nightclubs to fundraise for up-and-coming musicians and fashion designers.
- raised money to support children in need as president of the Arts and Fashion Group’s Pittsburgh chapter.
- endlessly supports other artists and artisans.
When Christine isn’t studying the law of color and hair sculpting, she is immersed in repurposing national historical artifacts and tending her urban garden.
“I can only connect deeply or not at all.”
–Anaïs Nin

FUN FACT
A good color and cut actually needs very little product to support it. The absolute “must haves” are 1) a color-supportive shampoo, 2) conditioner and 3) smoothing styling product. With these three basics, you will minimize the time spent on your hair and build consistent ease into your life.
